The FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System) uses a large capacity inverter technology and controls the fast/precision of the electrical grid. FACTS increases the grid’s safety and transmission capacity while reducing transmission cost. It is also effective in stabilizing the voltage variations in the grid due to the growing use of renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and dirty loads such as arc furnaces. STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator)

Hyosung’s capacitor and reactor uses the mechanical switch for compensating the reactive power in the power transmission lines; this is very effective for lines where steady state compensation is necessary.
